Agriculture in India is one of the most prominent sectors in its economy. India is the largest producer in the world of milk, cashew nuts, coconuts, tea, ginger, turmeric and black pepper. It also has the world's largest cattle population (193 million).India is expected to achieve the ambitious goal of doubling farm income by 2022. The agriculture sector in India is expected to generate better momentum in the next few years due to increased investments in agricultural infrastructure such as irrigation facilities, warehousing and cold storage. Furthermore, the growing use of genetically modified crops will likely improve the yield for Indian farmers. India is expected to be self-sufficient in pulses in the coming few years due to concerted efforts of scientists to get early-maturing varieties of pulses and the increase in minimum support price.Total agricultural exports from India grew at a CAGR of 14.61 per cent over FY10-19 to reach US$ 38.54 billion in FY19. In FY20 (till November 2019) agriculture exports were US$ 22.69 billion.

India has 84% of women working for livelihood in the areas of farming and horticulture. These women from rural areas are highly neglected with little avenues for entertainment, healthcare, beauty culture etc

Although most women in India work and contribute to the economy in one form or another, much of their work is not documented or accounted for in official statistics. Women plow fields and harvest crops while working on farms, women weave and make handicrafts while working in household industries, women sell food and gather wood while working in the informal sector. Additionally, women are traditionally responsible for the daily household chores (e.g., cooking, fetching water, and looking after children). Since Indian culture hinders women's access to jobs in stores, factories and the public sector, the informal sector is particularly important for women. There are estimates that over 90 percent of workingwomen are involved in the informal sector.

radiodilli.com shall cover these aspects. It shall also be its endeavor to empower the women by broadcasting program on their legal rights, laws on child marriage, dowry, and related issues.

Health care, or healthcare, is the prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the preservation of mental and physical well being through the services offered by the medical, nursing, and allied health professions. India traditionally has been a rural, agrarian economy. Nearly three- quarters of the population still lives in rural areas, and as of 2004, an estimated 27.5% of Indians were living below the national poverty line.

Some 300 million people in India live on less than a dollar a day, and more than 50% of all children are malnourished.

Another factor driving the growth of Indias healthcare sector is a rise in both infectious and chronic degenerative diseases. While ailments such as poliomyelitis, leprosy, and neonatal tetanus will soon be eliminated, some communicable diseases once thought to be under control, such as dengue fever, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, malaria, and pneumonia, have returned in force or have developed a stubborn resistance to drugs.

On radio WDF, we shall be providing you audio for traditional medicines, yoga, sidhha and Ayurveda.

Farming is not a sustainable livelihood option for 90% of the farmers in India. They can only get enough yield to survive and satisfy hygiene factor needs food, clothing and primitive shelter. There is no surplus that can take care of the future, good education, good health and a higher standard of living. The main reasons are poor quality of land, sub-optimal use of rainwater, insufficient irrigation and appalling ignorance, lack of livelihood for all the members of family. Farmers have to become entrepreneur and cut out the middle men. Other members of the family have to seek an alternate employment.

This site shall provide programme on livelihood generation by teaching skills to make pickles, candles, embroidery, etc
